This project is made possible through the support of a private donor and the beneficiary schools are selected by request/arrangement of this donor.
We work with three high schools – Gracemount, Tynecastle and St Augustine’s – offering them the opportunity to bring groups of young people into town to have a full Fringe experience. This includes traveling into town, seeing shows and street theatre and indulging in some street food. Each school has flexibility to organise the project differently, but a common theme is that young people play a key role in selecting the shows they see, advocating for these to their peers, and booking the shows. More than 1,100 young people have engaged in our Fringe Days Out – Schools project since 2018.
"We chose to go to the silent disco tour because it's completely different than what we have ever done... For me personally, I’ve never been confident but since [I’ve started doing] drama, I’ve definitely come out of my shell."
